hmm... Platinum's site states that the developers tool were included.
Not that that matters much to me. The browser is the thing that needs
the tweaks the most as it is what the end-user interfaces with.

does that mean that CAI can decide what to do if they want?

I've been hypothisizing about their browser related options as well.
How much of this do you think is possible?:
1) they make the source code public domain and the browsers get
vamped up and debugged by universities, developers, and hobbiests
2) blaxxun licenses code and speeds up their browser performance
3) VNet or some type of MU-VRML gets built into the browsers for better
performance and open standard strength and staying power
3) somebody combines the best of CosmoPlayer and WorldView into a
single browser
4) directX6 taken advantage of
5) universities start tweaking things for X3D (if public domain)
6) Sony rises from the dead to license itself new strength, putting the
competion on blaxxun (they did try to buy CosmoSoftware)
7) the end-users and the small developers get left high and dry...
