Steve;
(and others)
Quick notes:
At about 2:00 PM EST we should be running with 3 avatars for
a demo.
FreeWRL uses Perl, and it does not garbage collect very well,
so, after a day or two, it hangs... (I'm working on it)
I have drones (unattended avatars that just fly) and I'm thinking
of setting one or two up permanently to generate audio/positioning.
Also, Multicast means that it is not client/server; so it
just runs. The multicast address in use for the positioning
code, the audio code, and the TTL are all in the .wrl file.
I have an SGI Onyx that is generating heat at a phenominal
rate. I hope to try it on that soon. If you want to try it on
a mac, please do! Tell me when, and I'll turn on the CD player
so that music comes to you.
> You mention "should run" on any platform...cool, hope that's the case. If
> you'd like a Mac test - let me know. Is there a demo world up and running?

If windows is the answer, it must have been a stupid question.
