Any one seeing packet loss or other issue on the west coast with Level 3?

Yes. Noon to 5:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon. It looked more like bad
routes than packets dropping when we were having issues.
But, I do see other people asking the same questions on other lists
today. So, yeah. I'd say you're seeing a larger problem.

Hi guys,
Would love to hear some (off list) experiences about working with O1
Communications.
We've got customers on our *** today after PacWest had a
most-of-the-working-day outage.
I'm considering moving our California-based origination to them.
Lemme know, thanks.

My impression of them is very positive; they're a good bunch of folks.
We are not an ITSP and I buy no services from them, but we have been a
vendor to them several times, although not in a while.
They pay their bills, and seem to have it together. I was generally
impressed with the technical calibre of the people (at least, who were
there at the time--this was a few years ago now). Moreover, they have a
fairly large, technically sophisticated operation with decent
infrastructure, definitely not a cobbled-together kind of place.
At the time I last enquired or had a chance to inspect, they had killer
rates in their large California footprint, for orig and term, that are
unlikely to be matched by anyone else. In fact, I'm pretty sure that
most of the large resellers, for whom California is off-net, buy from them.

This is a clumsy sentence. I did not mean that California is off-net
for large resellers, but that those for whom it _is_ off-net most likely
buy from O1.
