If I were looking for a solution, I would make sure it supports SIP over TCP AND OPUS codec. I think OPUS has some of the best bandwidth and sound qulity around, plus it handles packet loss quite well. I have heard you can have up to 30 percent packet loss without hearing it using OPUS.
Not to mention everything WebRTC will be OPUS. But your softswitch has to support it, and support transcoding back to G711 assuming you want to talk to the PSTN.
