Now, calls that don't answer our IVR prompts get shunted to voicemail. We get a couple dozen blank voicemail recordings a day. I'm not sure if there's any audio stream present or not because they're coming in our TDM trunks and I'm a data guy. Not sure how to figure that out in Metaswitch SAS.
Clearing the calls if they're silent sounds interesting. I'll look to see if we can do that. There's no carrier that's obvious. All over the country. Some are mobile caller IDs, some are not. Given that some are mobile, I'm assuming they're illegitimate calls because why would a bunch of random cell phones across the country be calling my 7-town ISP at all hours of the day and night? They wouldn't, so it's someone spoofing them. To me, it's more annoying than active scam calls because there's doubt if it's real or not. I assume every call not from a current or prospective customer is a scam, so from the content, it's easy to tell.
