We are also facing a large cost increase for SS7, specifically for the
ISUP portion.
One of the frustrating parts, for us, is that we only need ISUP for
connectivity with an RBOC, that has indicated that they want to do TDM
trunking _only_ (more or less) forever. And F-Links is not something
they are willing to do. But, they /can/ sell us an A-Link set.
(In addition to the RBOC, we still have TDM with another neighboring
telco. We are working on converting that SIP. Even if we weren't going
to convert it to SIP, I bet if I asked that telco to do an F-Link with
me, that would respond with, "Yeah sure, which T1(s) should we put it on?")
