Posted by Orin Kerr: The Shiavo Complaint filed today in federal court has been posted [1]here. The gist of the complaint seems to be an argument that the federal constitution required the appointment of a person to represent Terri's rights directly rather than allowing the state judge to act as a "health-care surrogate." I'm no expert in this area, but at first blush this doesn't sound very persuasive to me.
