Monica Goodling Testimony:

I watched about an hour of Monica Goodling's testiony before the House
Judiciary Committee this morning, and thought it was pretty
uneventful. Based on what I saw, Goodling was a far more skillful
witness than the House members were questioners. Most of the
Democratic House members were just reading questions off a script
prepared by staffers, and they didn't seem comfortable enough to go
off-script to pursue something Goodling said. Meanwhile, Goodling was
very skillful as a witness. She would often give a partial answer to
the question that was technically true but very vague, and would then
pivot and then turn the focus elsewhere and start talking for a while
to help run out the clock. All in all, it went much better for the
Administration than I would have expected.
