Not to mention that calibrating+adjusting modern devices with a modern calibrator is nearly fully automated, so adjustments included adds very little to the final cost.

However, older instruments that require manual calibration are more costly to calibrate and choosing the right lab capable of doing the older procedures correctly is an equally important choice.
