Hi Alan, Generally, flux cleaner is designed to clean off non polar substances, which for our purposes can be thought of as things that water wouldn't dissolve... such as rosin, oils and greases...
Most any sort of organic salt, hydroxide, acid, ... dissolves nicely in water, but won't dissolve in flux cleaner. -Chuck Harris Alan Ambrose wrote:
