It's also handy to add a DEFKEY command string to clear the display. The following will guarantee a completely blank display while setting idle.
DEFKEY n (n = 0 through 9) "RESET;TRIG SGL;DISP MSG,," (the "DISP MSG,," is undocumented) The RESET and TRIG SGL are included so the small status and sample indicators remain off. Use the blue key + close function then up / down arrow to select the RESET TRIG & DISP functions. After TRIG use the down arrow to select SGL After DISP use the down arrow to select MSG Refer to DEFKEY command in the user's manual or quick reference card for more help.
