I don’t recall saying 1994 - I wrote 1999. But unless you have a data sheet
confirming the format of any date code, I would not assume that you are
interpreting it correctly. Sometimes date  code are written in obscure ways
- for example, on HP equipment, a part of the s/n indicates the number of
weeks since *1960* the last engineering change was made.

The super capacitor I recently got you has a date code on it, but you will
not interpret it easily.
