Hi Kent,
Sorry for the late answer.
Thanks for the interest in Apache OpenOffice.
We appreciate all activities and help you want to become yourself into.
It is up to you how you bring yourself in. On Dev we have a roadmap
discussion ongoing. (see [1]) you are welcome to participate in the
discussion with your ideas or questions.
it list all topics that I think are priority. If there is something you
want hop into, then just write to dev, and say so. And bring your question.
We build officially still with C++98, so AOO is not an modern project.
We use old Windows SDKs which need modernization. This is not that clear
written in the Roadmap.
Please review our build guide [2] to get your development environment
set up.
If you have questions pleas ask on the dev mailing list.
you can look into open PRs, too. look at our repository in github [3].
Check them out and participate there to get them succesfully merged.
If i can help you in any ways just reach out.
All the best
Peter
