I found a very interesting article about a new concept that may come into
being soon: rmx DNS records.

You can read about it here:
http://www.mikerubel.org/computers/rmx_records/#abstract

In essence, it proposes that DNS rmx records indicate what machines are
authorized to send mail for the domain. Since nearly 1/2 all spam comes from
forged addresses, it would stop them. If people used their own domains with
true rmx recorsds, you could block for them.

Interesting concept that does not destroy the existing smtp protocol but
puts a dent in a spammers ability to say they are [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I would hope this could (conceptually) be built into the VOPMail core to
make it a ready tool when acceptance comes.
