I found a very interesting article about a new concept that may come into being soon: rmx DNS records. You can read about it here: http://www.mikerubel.org/computers/rmx_records/#abstract In essence, it proposes that DNS rmx records indicate what machines are authorized to send mail for the domain. Since nearly 1/2 all spam comes from forged addresses, it would stop them. If people used their own domains with true rmx recorsds, you could block for them. Interesting concept that does not destroy the existing smtp protocol but puts a dent in a spammers ability to say they are [EMAIL PROTECTED] I would hope this could (conceptually) be built into the VOPMail core to make it a ready tool when acceptance comes.
