I sent this again without the three exclamation points in the subject, probably would get blocked by sieve.

Hi,

I have to pay you money to tell me whether or not something I want to do is tolerated?  Get a grip, this list is for your customers to use.

If you don't like what they are saying you have several choices:

A)  Ignore it, and post when you think you can improve your position.
B)  Ignore it.
C)  Threaten your customers.
D)  Fix the problem that your customers are bitching about.

I wonder which of those is the best route?  So far we have seen A and C from Vircom.  I can't wait until my business is so successful that I can threaten my customers.  That must mean I have made it.

I was almost afraid to post this, almost.  Gee, I what I will do if I get banned from the list?  Probably purchase a support contract.  Hmmm, maybe not...

Take care,

Mike Roberts

Subject: [VOP RADIUS] Discontinuation of the upgrade insurance - FINAL WORD

Regarding support plans:

The policy whereby customers have 30 days to purchase a support plan following the purchase of a product has been in placed for a few months. It is standard business practice in the industry, and is true to the philosophy of support plans.

That being said, we understand that some of you were used to the previous policy and that the change in policy was not communicated properly. As such, Vircom management has decided to give you a period of 30 days to regularize the situation. Regardless of your purchase date for VOP Radius, you may purchase a support plan or an upgrade insurance within 30 days of this message.  Simply contact Vircom Sales at 514-845-1666, or by email at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

About this dicussion thread:

As I have stated previously, this mail list is NOT intended to discuss Vircom's policies and business practices. No further discussion of this type will be tolerated on this list. As I have pointed out, private emails to me or to Sales are the way to do this: the decision outlined above is a result of private discussions, not mail list trumpeting.

The VOP Radius mail list is intended for discussions of technical issues related to VOP Radius, and policy discussions drive away customers who have a legitimate need of such a list.

About Larry Essary's messages:

Mr. Essary, your comments on this list are out of place, insult the dedicated support staff of Vircom and insults their hard work. They border on the slanderous. Not only do you sabotage the work of all of Vircom's staff, but you use Vircom's own mail lists to damage Vircom's reputation. Any such kind of comments or discussions of Vircom's policies on our mail lists and employing our bandwidth will result in your deletion from our mail lists. There will be no further warnings.
