Quite right. It is nothing new, and some scientists have always been this way. 
But at this moment in history, bad behavior fashionable. It is particularly 
widespread, and it lauded and rewarded, instead of being punished. These things 
ebb and flow.

I think the trend began with the rejection of cold fusion, which brought the 
worst in people. Plus, science has become centralized and micro-managed by 
Washington, which is a culture dominated by politics.
