That assertion is a lot of crap.

To put it another way, does anyone seriously assert that we should cut down all the trees in Canada to help prevent global warming?

Obviously, if we put the Earth back the way we found it a few hundred years ago, and stop putting CO2 into the air, global warming is likely to subside. As I said in the book, we may need to put a great deal of carbon back underground, where we found it.
