Lately there seems to be some temporary static showing up on the Vortex list group.
Regarding solutions to reduce deforestation in developing countries, such as Jon Bohmer's solar hot box that allegedly is capable of boiling water, see: http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/04/09/solar.oven.global.warming/index.html http://tinyurl.com/cec9km I suspect most within the Vortex-l collective feel encouraged that such a simple solution appears to be cheap and easy to manufacture in mass quantities. This is a good thing. With that said, it is an erroneous assumption to suggest (however indirect it may be) that this group has little interest in finding out how to make energy, particularly electricity, ubiquitous and essentially free to everyone on this planet. It is an erroneous assumption to conclude that most within this group are not interested in leveling the playing ground against the haves and have-nots. One way to do that is to make sure viable economic systems are in place in order to get these services propagated everywhere, so that everyone on this planet can benefit, prosper, and live in dignity. As for Mr. Malloy's occasional predilection to post OT UFO material here, I would like to say that I have for the most part enjoyed receiving these links, such as one pointing to Project Camelot. Mr. Malloy knows full well that my views on this smarmy subject appear to differ from his in many ways. But isn't that what a discussion group is all about: the meeting of the minds, especially differing minds. Regards Steven Vincent Johnson www.OrionWorks.com www.zazzle.com/orionworks
