The worst was the ice storm of 1973. I was in school at GaTech and we all went over to Grant Field and sat in the stadium watching the blue flashes every few seconds as limbs took down power lines. 200,000 were without power for days.
That storm brought 1/2 inch of radial ice on branches and is the design criterion for cell towers in this area. Tomorrow they are predicting as much as one inch of radial ice followed by 20 mph winds. This is the formula for a catastrophe. Buy stocks of manufacturers of cell towers.
