Walking home from work today I saw something I don't see very often. Perhaps the scene was a statement concerning the beginning of the Memorial Day weekend, but I really don't know. I saw a smiling potbellied middle aged man riding his motorcycle down University Avenue. Certainly nothing unusual about a smiling potbellied middle aged man riding a motorcycle down University Avenue. Perhaps he was a former veteran. Perhaps he wanted to make a statement. But again, I really don't know. What made the scene unique in my experience was the costume he was wearing. It was a two piece outfit where one of the articles worn was not immediately obvious to me. The more obvious portion involved an orange cape draped over his upper torso. It flowed effortlessly and freely in the warm late afternoon breeze. As for the rest of his costume, I hope he had applied plenty of sunscreen over all of it. It was after all turning to be a fine warm and sunny Memorial day weekend.
Wish I had my camera. Ah, Madison! My kind of town! Hope everybody enjoys a great Memorial Weekend, and remember those who sacrificed so much for the rest of us. Regards, Steven Vincent Johnson svjart.orionworks.com
