I wonder what the exchange rate was between bitcoin and francs at that moment. Insurance wise, I'll bet the bitcoin payment was probably more than what one would have paid for the same drinks in francs. I assume the bartender didn't waste much time exchanging the coinage back to francs. My understanding of bitcoin value is that it is still highly volatile. Ridiculously so.
