In various "psi" experiments, rats on one side of the world were trained in how to escape a particular maze. Miraculously (or not, depending on your viewpoint) other rats in other parts of the world suddenly found it easier to cope with the same maze.

This suggests that trying to keep the lid on things is impossible anyway, that thoughts do not exist in a vacuum in one's head.
