I was musing on the possibility of separating Deuterium gas from Hydrogen gas with the Ranque-Hilsch Vortex tube. Since one molecule is twice the weight of the other it would seem a plausible approach to the problem. In the course of a Google search I came across this rather fascinating account of the tube's operation.
