I should say ones. I knew two, and read books by three others. Obviously, these particular Kamikaze pilots never made flew their missions, or they would not have been around to discuss their experiences with me. Anyway, they were technically well-educated engineering oriented people. During the war and later they disdained "religious mumbo-jumbo" as one of them put it. See, for example, R.
