200 MW for $500 to $750 million. Actually, that is not such a bad price. The same capacity with other sources would cost roughly:

Gas-fired turbine, $100 million
Conventional wind turbine, $400 million
Conventional fission, $1,200 million (but they do not make fission reactors this small)


The solar tower is better than a conventional wind turbine system because the energy is generated 24 hours a day, regardless of the weather. It generates more power during hot, cloudless days, but it still works even with cloudy weather or at night.
