Actually I do, in fact, walk. Not so much in winter. And I am not going to buy another Volvo if all they offer are models that get lower MPG than the 1995 model. That's outrageous!


The point is, it would not take much to reduce consumption. Some columnist the other day pointed out that most people who have SUVs also have ordinary cars, and if they would all leave the SUV home one or two days a week and drive the car instead, it would save a phenomenal amount of fuel.

I have long felt that the energy crisis would be much easier to fix, even by conventional means, than most people realize.
