I seem to recall that part of Tesla's design was high powered arc lamps to
create a ionization tunnel, and it was a power broadcaster, not receiver.
The abandoned very sturdy tower was a New Jersey shore landmark until WW2,
when it was torn down because it was a landmark and there were concerns
about German invasion.
