I saw something on this not that long ago which points
out that this is a hoax engineered to sell McDonald's
book.
The tooth is apparently a deer antler.

I believe that this is the same person I listened to when he did C to
C. He contends that "Nessie" is a large species of eel. Getting
chased out of a lake by a hungry, 80 foot eel, with 8" serrated teeth
would be real horror show.
He claims that some people recovered one of it's teeth which was
imbedded in the ribs of a deer. As they were leaving the game warden
showed up and confiscated the tooth. Why the local government would
cover this up seems slightly strange to me however.
