Okay, the mass ratio of protons to electrons appears to be over 1800; so, electron/positron pairs last for microfemtoseconds. Plus, the lower mass would mean that the electric field to separate them would have to exert less force assuming classical mechanics. Would f=ma apply here? How far apart would you have to pull the virtual pair to stop the recombination? Is this what Tesla was doing?
