It certainly looks possible. Batteries are capable of surprisingly
high peak currents and the pulse width here is only 1 ms.
Auto batteries are designed to provide currents of over
200 A for the starter motor during freezing conditions.
The loading would explain the lower than expected average voltage
readings.
