Refering to Pages 3.501.205 & 3.558.149 it is fairly clear that the centre rod you refer to is the connection to one end of the cathode grid (No4 on 3.558.149) and the other end of the cathode grid is No2 on 3.558.149. This means the connections they are using now is from No 2 to No 4 to heat the cathode element. and as you said there is no anode connection. Regards JohnH
