Carbon emission can be much lower - using more batteries and a genset and NO large ICE. Wind, hydro and nuclear can do this. So that argument for the large ICE falls flat on its face in the comparative picture.

What would drive the genset in this scenario? Hydrogen? That's a long way off at best. I think we should discuss what we can do this year or next year, with existing technology. The only practical plug-in hybrid today would have to use gasoline in the genset.
