Vorts,
Not sure if this is a rehash of old news but here's an interesting article on a
recent Nanotech breakthrough pertaining to organic solar cells. Researchers at
Wake Forest and New Mexico State University have reached 6 percent efficiency.
The ultimate goal is to reach 10 percent efficiency (hopefully by October 2006)
which they claim should make organic solar cell technology economically viable.

I'll settle for 6% if the cheap and robust. Plastic solar cells need to
be sealed against the air or they regrade faster than silicon so making
them cheap, robust and 10% may be a tall order.
