I hope so! I am optimistic. I hope that the lure of saving thousands of dollars per person will ensure that cold fusion wins in the end. The Brothers Kotch may spend a billion dollars to stop it, but the public will soon know that it will save Americans a billion dollars a day. I hope that overwhelms the opposition. I hope that we are not locked out of the mass media. I fear the public may never hear the facts about cold fusion. The Kotchs and others are doing an effective job blocking small-scale solar: http://www.motherjones.com/environment/2013/12/alec-calls-penalties-freerider-homeowners-assault-clean-energy Granted, that is not as cost effective or attractive as cold fusion. > Free market capitalism may be unpopular, > but it has yet to be replaced with a successful alternative on a large > scale. > We have not had much free market capitalism in the U.S. Especially not for big-ticket technology such as railroads, aviation, highways, computers and energy. It has always been a collaboration with the government, going right back to the Erie canal, the first railroads, the first steam ships and so on. Just about every important large-scale technology from 1800 was either invented by government scientists, or mostly paid for by Uncle Sam or by the British government. - Jed
