They say that though the dog bone appears white hot on video, it actually looks orange in person. This may explain the apparent visual discrepancy with the photograph in the Lugano report, and the reported temperature. It also demonstrates that you really can't trust photography to accurately reflect color, without detailed information on the type of photography used.

They're up to 1700 watts on the control. Afterwhich, they plan to insert a core into the dog bone and run it again to see if there's any difference.
