Here is a status report on wind energy, with the total increases in 2014
and the cumulative total for different parts of the world, and different
countries.

China is now the world leader in wind power, with

23,196 MW of new installations, and 114,609 MW cumulative.

World cumulative total capacity is 369,597 MW (370 GW nameplate). Given the
capacity factor this is roughly equivalent to 130 U.S. average nuclear
plants, which is more than total U.S. nuclear capacity. In other words,
this is roughly enough to generate one-forth of U.S. electricity. Wing
capacity is growing by 51 GW nameplate per year; equivalent to roughly 20
U.S. nukes per year. I believe this is much faster growth than nuclear
power accomplished in its heyday in the 1970s.
