An interesting “big picture” political situation, which is showing up at this 
conference, appears to be the budding Asian competition between Japan and China 
– both of which countries need LENR far more than does the USA, or even Europe, 
or even both together. 

 

One wonders if the appearance of IH at Padua, which as an enterprise which has 
been extremely publicity-shy in the past – was actually accomplished at the 
behest of the Chinese. IH has a partnership arrangement in place, and probably 
IP as well.

 

SMART… on the part of the Chinese. This alignment and others could be critical. 
With 1.4 billion citizens, energy-starved by comparison - this is a competition 
that Beijing cannot afford to lose, and they have long-standing wounds with 
Japan, on top of everything else. 

 

The race for LENR could end up as China’s version of the “Manhattan project”, 
in terms of a national commitment.
