"Firstly, let me say I do hope that LENR exists and is viable as it would be an enormous benefit to the world and humanity. However, being that I don't have a lot of physics background I have a hard time understanding a lot of the concepts involved in some of the papers that are being published. Can someone help me understand generally how the LENR process is supposed to work (quantum tunneling, particle decay, etc), the purpose of the metal lattices, and why the Sun wouldn't/doesn't perform this process? Specifically in regards to the Sun, most of the explanations (to me) seem to involve similar processes to what happens in the sun, minus the large amounts of heat and pressure. But again this might be my own ignorance."
