In my opinion, Scott is a litmus test to determine if something is ready for prime time. If a process or effect is well enough defined such that Scott can build it and make it work, it is ready for prime time. That's not a bad criterion, actually, and perhaps so indicates that it is worth inevestment by Earth Tech's wealthy patron.
