Suppose you lived in a "rewind universe" where what you see in the video is just normal behaviour and the laws of mechanics were unknown. At first I think the concept of teleology would be used to explain the phenomena. Perhaps the laws of mechanics would emerge latter to explain portions of the phenomena, but teleology would always be regarded as part of the universe. Contrast this with the "forward universe" of modern physics where teleology is given no role whatsoever. Harry
