Perhaps I should point out that some of the statements in this newspaper article are inaccurate. For example:
Iwamura told me that he has not put aside transmutation experiments. He is still doing some. As far as I know the US Patent Office does not reject applications because they appear violate the laws of nature. This is not my article, so don't blame me for inaccuracies. On the other hand, I reviewed the Japanese text of the quotes from Iwamura with him. I made a few minor adjustments to reflect what he had in mind. It is not an exact translation. - Jed
