In Fig. 6, the x-axis should be Time/s (not Time/1000s). Mizuno sent me a corrected version which is now uploaded.

Horace was wondering whether there could have been a buildup of hydrogen in the incubator. Mizuno confirmed my recollection that the inside door of the incubator does not cover the entire front surface so it is not a bit airtight, so this is ruled out.

The door not fully covering the incubator does not rule out an incubator space explosion. In fact it only guarantees that some oxygen will be present (in the event the oxygen is otherwise consumed.)

One thing remains fairly certain. The origin of the blast was not inside the Tygon coil.
