Yup. That was my point.


As Jed points out, the Seeback calorimeter is a precision quantitative device, and the LED's are not. So, the LEDs would prove nothing to a knowledgeable observer.

As long as we are confined to dealing with ~1 watt devices, it will take a knowledgeable observer to appreciate what is going on. Dr. K. Observer will be impressed by a Seebeck, and put off by the LED gadget. He would probably consider it an unprofessional stunt.
