If my calculation is correct the energy in his 
capacitor is about a foot pound.

The windage and other losses of turning that 
rotor for 3 hours must be greater than that, 
surely.

If what Sprain claims is true he has a right 
to be pissed off.

However, I would be happier if Sprain had said,

"they had run their motor just from a charged 
cap - with no outside power source".

rather than,

"they could run their motor just from a charged 
cap - with no outside power source", 

which might suggest that they were confident it 
would work but they hadn't actually tried it yet.

Perhaps Terry could enlighten us on this point.
