The subsidies for wind are small, and they are phased out after a few years of 
operation, for equipment that lasts 20 to 30 years.

Not according to EPRI. They say the maintenance cost of wind per MWH is close 
to the lowest in the industry, because the equipment operates in relatively 
mild conditions, compared to the extreme temperatures and pressures of thermal, 
nuclear or hydroelectric plants.
