Interesting post Fred. I met a man who is in the RO water machine business. The largest model has a 15,000 HP motor powering it. You could build three pipelines into an area. One for sea water, one for a waste water return, and one for fuel. I wonder how that would affect the feasibility of this project? You could produce some surplus water which would support trees, I wonder if such an activity would modify the climate. Perhaps we could regrow the Saraha Forest.
