A metal jar lid can serve as the anode to complete the circuit for
a stack of insulator-spaced stainless steel fender washers insulated from the
threaded rod feeding current to inside end plate.
A gas bleeder tube can also pass through the lid.
Balloons on the gas bleed tubes worked nicely on our
12 plate electrolyzer.
A 50 cc livestock syringe makes a good vacuum pump.
