I highly recommend this book. The discussion of water at the beginning is fascinating, plus this is the best history of an actual case of 'pathological science' I know of. It is good because he is sympathetic to the scientists.

Anyone reading this book will see that polywater was nothing like cold fusion in most ways. It was similar in that the scientists doing it were sincere, smart, and deserve respect.
