Hydrogen 0.00016 Grams of gas dissolved in 100 g of water when
the total
pressure above the solution is 1 atm.
From: MJ:
anyway whatever the exact value
is, it could be enough to provoke/catalyze the flashing, the
test I
suggested would help eliminate this prosaic possibility.
Well Michel is correct to the extent that even this small amount
of H2 could provoke/catalyze some (or all) of the flashing. I am
not convinced that this explanation is any more prosaic than
enhanced charge-stability, however.
The reason for H2 being so important is covered in #36 of the
previous site:
http://www.lsbu.ac.uk/water/explan4.html
which relates to ion-mobility. For hydrogen this is EXTRAORDINARY.
However that very same ion-mobility also explains why the
HydroBooster itself is effective in the first place -despite
taking energy from the alternator of the vehicle. The main point
is we are going *beyond* thermodynamic explanations (arguably).
The (hydronium --> nascent hydrogen) ion mobility is so
extraordinary that in the confines of an ICE - even in the few
milliseconds following ignition - this ion can act alike a little
high speed buzz-saw cutting through the other unstable or
metastable molecules - which may be present - perhaps allowing for
not only a complete burn... but perhaps *more* in the sense of
this: the Faradic splitting energy required for steam is a
fractional eV lower than the recombination energy if there is nay
proton displacement and as much as 11+ eV if there is substantial
proton displacement..
ERGO - If you set up the situation where you have a chain-reaction
of sequential splitting-recombination - due to the high mobility -
then there is the possibility of gainfulness...
... and so long as we "only" raise the final Carnot efficiency
from say 30% to 60% there is no need to explain where the "extra"
energy is coming from ;-)
How is that for getting way-out on a 2nd-Law violation limb in
only a few paragraphs...?
