Fred,Did you know that when PTFE coated stir bars are exposed to a solution of solvated electrons in liquid ammonia - the "impervious" surface of the stir bar is converted to carbon ?
One wonders if H2O (with sovlated electrons therein) can perfom similar magic, but over an extended time frame, especially if some NaCl has been added to increase conductivity ?
